"Our small efforts at kindness can change people's lives more than we will ever know. Since it takes so little time and energy to change the world for the better, why not make an effort to do it every day?"

Falling in Mud

So, today I was walking along, just fine and then all of a sudden I slipped and fell face first in a nasty dirty mud puddle. Since I'm in microbiology, I know very well the importance of painstakingly *scrubbing* the dirt out from under my skin to avoid infection. Disinfecting was... pleasant.

My little sister and I realized that this is like life. Life can be full of sunshine, and then BAM! You slip up. We compared microbiology class to church, since church is where you learn the how and why of repenting. And when you screw up you have to repent--scrubbing the dirt out--which can be a painful process. If you don't repent things will worsen, like if you don't clean a dirty wound. After you go through the healing process, eventually things get so much better. :)

*Note: this is something I wrote earlier this week
