"Our small efforts at kindness can change people's lives more than we will ever know. Since it takes so little time and energy to change the world for the better, why not make an effort to do it every day?"

day 12: write a poem

The Everyday.
Humdrum, dull, exhausting
And yet--

Do not let the glorious
Pass you by.

Take note
Of the grandeur.
Do you see the gorgeous sky?
Smell the lovely flowers?
Enjoy the crispness of a fresh apple?
Listen to the rustle of the leaves?

Remember
Who you care about.
Do they know?

Notice
The wonderful happenings,
Right now.

Do not take anything for granted,
Give thanks daily.

I'm eternally grateful for my family =]
Inspired by: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 & Thanksgiving Daily
I'm not a poet, but I do like the subject matter. =]

Quote for today: The optimists ignore the facts - put on smiley faces and pretend it didn't happen. However, the optimists live a lie. -Hyrum W. Smith
This is an excerpt from a post--I highly recommend reading the entire thing.

  1. You should include the link to the post that you took the quote from. Do you know how to do that? b/c I can tell you how!
